Stone → Design
The material sets the direction.
Natural diamonds and gemstones are viewed closely for outline, life and character. The design responds to what is present rather than forcing the stone into a predetermined idea.
Proportions are resolved through drawing, measurement, models and CAD where useful. Technology supports the eye; it does not replace judgement.
Bench → Setting → Polish
Precision becomes feeling.
At the bench, the structure is formed and prepared for the setter. Each seat, prong and surface is refined to protect the stone while allowing light and balance.
Final polishing is both technical and visual. It brings the intended line into focus before the piece is inspected and presented.
